Slow Creating a Blank VM

VMM 2008 on Server 2008 - Host is Server 2008 Hyper-V

I'm finding that when I create a new VM, it is hanging at the 'Install VM Components' Stage (1.6). Around 10 minutes +.

However, if I log onto the Host, and create a new VM using HperV Manager, it creates the VM in just a few seconds.

Is there any way I can stop VMM from trying to do the 'Install VM Components' Step, or at least speed it up?

My guess is that it cant install VM Components because it is a blank HDD.
